A half-century ago, the U.S. was the undisputed leader in education. Today, other countries are leap-frogging the U.S. on global measures of student skills and knowledge. Here’s a look at some of the data.

In 2009, the U.S. ranked 21st in graduation rates from high school.

In 2009, the U.S. ranked 15th in graduation rates from college.

In 2009, the U.S. spent more per student on education from kindergarten through college than any other country.
